Artist blog post #1
Last night, I shot an art show over in Santa Ana for a company and saw multiple artists with great talent, but the biggest and largest scale piece was my favorite. Mia Tavonnatti’s art was hung in a large section of the show, large scale mosaics of color, photo like paintings that made the room glow.
Mia attended California State University of Long Beach, where she earned her degree in illustration. She has traveled to many places in Europe, and has been creating art professionally for over twenty years.
Her work is very detailed with white dabs of color as refection and detail. She simplifies all her detail by using less color, which makes the whole image tie together. As a photographer, looking at it hung last night made it incredibly realistic. Her most recent work was unveiled, after Mia had moved to Italy in 2007, called Svelata, which I saw last night and really enjoyed. I loved her work, and I loved her life sized scale!
Here is some of her work;
